In the Summer of 2018, 1.FSV Mainz 05 decided to go for a partnership with Content Stadium to increase their presence on all social media channels while optimising their overall content creation processes.

Now, 15 weeks later, just before we enter the winter break, it’s time to review things and see how the Content Stadium platform became the key tool for the daily content creation process of the Mainz social media team.

Daniel Haas, Head of Club Media at Mainz05 and with the club for 7.5 years:

“Content Stadium has been on my radar for quite a while before the time was right to finally partner-up. In no time, the platform has taken an important place and became an indispensable link in our social media operations.

My team adopted the use of Content Stadium almost immediately. Because it’s so simple and actually fun to use. Its flexibility is essential for us. We can use the same templates to create multiple types of content, in different sizes and in multiple languages. This makes this software very time-saving and cost-effective for us.

It also took a more than symbolic place in our club’s changed look&feel on social media. The fans have seen this change in the content as well and the overall response has been very positive.”

Frank Festen, responsible for the Content Stadium’s partnerships in the German-speaking countries:

“Directly after we launched the account for Mainz05 they started using it intensively, creating posts on all channels. Within a few weeks, Mainz asked if we could add extra templates to the package. This is something we delightfully support of course.“

A current sponsor from Mainz05 asked for a branded template in order to display real-time game statistics connected to their brand. This sponsor understands the value of the reach and engagement with the Mainz fans via the Mainz social media channels. Quickly after that, Mainz started to increase the number of sizes in which they can use the templates. This allows them to optimally benefit from the duplication function in the platform, meaning: you create one size for Facebook and with one click the platform duplicates this content to a different size for Instagram Stories, Twitter, website and even your newsletter and/or mobile app.

By automatically changing the language in the templates, Mainz is creating the same branded experience for different language groups. And via the so called “template switch”, they can use the same template to communicate both the Matchday announcement and the results of the game, during halftime and fulltime.

Frank about Mainz05:

“For the last decade, Mainz05 has been a stable club in one of the worlds most prestigious football leagues in the world. With close to 700K fans on their local channels, Mainz has the responsibility to deliver frequent strong content to its fans. I am proud that Content Stadium is supporting them exactly where they need it the most.”
